Hunter Carpenter is a managing director at The Stephens Group, LLC, a Little Rock based private equity firm. Hunter is responsible for sourcing and executing new investments and monitoring and advising portfolio companies. He spends the majority of his time identifying new investment opportunities, evaluating potential investments, structuring transactions, managing due diligence, negotiating transactions and financing agreements, and working with portfolio company management teams to execute organic growth strategies, add-on acquisitions and leadership team development initiatives.

Hunter has been actively involved in a number of The Stephens Group’s current and past portfolio companies including Multi-Shot, Inform, JV Industrial Companies, Goodman Networks, Direct Mail Holdings, Spitzer Industries, Seminole Energy Services, Shale-Inland, Main Steel, and Kodiak Gas Services, amongst others.

Prior to joining The Stephens Group during its formation during 2006, he was the executive assistant to Witt Stephens, Jr. at Stephens Inc. where he supported Mr. Stephens across a broad range of principal investing activities, and monitored certain of the Stephens family’s portfolio investments. Prior to becoming Mr. Stephens’ assistant, he worked in the Corporate Finance Department at Stephens Inc.

He received a Bachelors of Accountancy, Masters of Accountancy and a Juris Doctor from Ole Miss. He is a member of the University of Mississippi Foundation Investment Committee and a member of the Arkansas Bar Association. He has published articles in the fields of Corporate Finance and Constitutional Law. Currently he serves on the board of Kodiak Gas Services, LLC, JV Industrial Services, Pinnergy, Ltd., Seminole Energy Services, LLC, Shale-Inland, Spitzer Industries, Inc., and Summit Industrial Construction. Mr. Carpenter was recently named as one of Arkansas Business’ “40 under 40”.
